What we do

We are an Essex based occupational therapy company that provides specialist assessments treatment and support to adults with disabilities following injury or illness. Our team contains specialists in neurology, MSK, cardiology and psychology, and our Occupational Therapists have extensive inpatient and community rehabilitation experience.

At the centre of our practice is the ethos: with the improvement of activity comes the improvement of health and well-being.

Our team understands that the majority of your clients are unlikely to return to their premorbid skill level and because of this we use the model of adaptation through occupation, this focuses on using meaningful and purposeful activities to enable the injured person to adapt to their ‘new normal’.

As OT’s we believe that there is no substitute for face-to-face contact and the facilitation of meaningful and purposeful activities, and this is reflected in our practice.

Why choose us?

We are not sole practitioners, and we do not use the associate model.

We are a small Essex based team of Occupational Therapists who work together for the benefit of your clients. We expand on the team concept, and we have occupational therapy technicians and occupational therapy assistants who can provide intervention at a higher frequency but at a lower cost.

We know that case managers have to justify costs and interventions at every step, and we know that any opportunity to provide specialist input at a lower rate and a higher frequency is always welcome because you know that this will be the best for your client.

As we are a team you do not need to scramble around trying to find services or care companies who say they can provide rehabilitation but return to a disabling care model. Our team will follow care plans, treatment programmes and deliver specialist intervention at any level with the focus of enabling your client to meet their goals.

Did you know we have taken the team approach even further. Our Occupational Therapists and OT team work closely with speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, specialist equipment companies and specialist building companies all based within Essex.

MDT Essex is a group of companies that regularly work together to provide outstanding services for people with disabilities. Through this regular working practice all the companies have developed excellent lines of communication and an understanding of each other’s practice. In essence you have a ready and waiting multidisciplinary team for your client should you want to use it.
