Upper limb rehabilitation

Upper limb rehabilitation is often a low priority or even forgotten about in statutory services, too often it is the case that the goal of statutory services is to get a person up on their feet and often out of hospital or back home as quickly as possible. This results in many people having to adapt to having a non-functional arm or hand in their own home and this has a significant negative impact on being able to engage in meaningful and purposeful activities.

Our Occupational Therapists assess and start the treatment, but this is often passed over to specialist OT technicians an even our rehabilitation assistants to continue to deliver excellent treatment at a reduced cost.

Our upper limb rehab team consists of Occupational Therapists; occupational therapy technicians find rehabilitation assistants. This means that you can have expert intervention and treatment but still have longer-term cost-effective intervention until you have reached your maximum potential.

This intervention can be provided at your convenience whether it be at home or in our wellbeing clinic and we are able to cater to all people. From minor upper limb injuries requiring input to regain strength all the way through to people with major neurological upper limb damage. Through the use of our specialist interventions, we can enable you to achieve your treatment goals.

In our specialist team we also have highly skilled splint fabricators who can design and build specialists resting and active splints to assist with the management of your wrist and hand.
